This Orange Creamsicle Smoothie is the perfect refreshment for a warm summer day — and you might find yourself craving it year-round. Freshly squeezed orange juice and ripe banana create a naturally sweet, creamy flavor. This recipe can be made dairy-free and adapted for Whole30 or the autoimmune protocol (AIP) when using compliant yogurt and collagen.

Ingredients:
- Yogurt – I prefer coconut yogurt for a dairy-free option. For AIP or Whole30, use a compliant coconut yogurt.
- Orange juice – Freshly squeezed is best, but store-bought orange juice works too.
- Banana – Use ripe bananas. Frozen bananas add thickness and extra sweetness.
- Collagen peptides or protein powder – Collagen peptides are paleo and AIP friendly; any protein powder can be used if you prefer.
Instructions:
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- If making fresh orange juice, juice the oranges before blending.
What kind of juicer do you use?
- Many citrus juicers work well. A high-quality juicer will yield the most juice, but a simple handheld citrus press is perfectly fine for oranges.

Storage and make-ahead tips
- Smoothies are best fresh, but you can refrigerate them up to 3 days. Shake or stir before drinking, as separation can occur.
- For longer storage, portion the ingredients into freezer bags and freeze. Frozen smoothie packs keep for months and make fast blending easy.
