Starting Your Chicken and Bacon Garlic Bread Pizza

You can use a store-bought unbaked garlic bread loaf or prepare your own garlic butter and spread it on a split French loaf. Either way, assemble the pizza on the buttered side without baking first so the toppings sit nicely on the bread.

Once the loaf is buttered, layer shredded mozzarella, diced cooked chicken and crumbled bacon. This combination is tasty on its own, but you can add tomato sauce and other classic pizza toppings if you prefer. For convenience, precooked bacon crumbles are a great pantry staple to keep on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of garlic bread unbaked
  • 1 ½ C mozzarella cheese grated
  • 1 C cooked chicken diced
  • 3-4 tablespoon crumbled and cooked bacon
  • ½ C fresh tomatoes diced
  • 2 tablespoon fresh chives chopped

Instructions

  • Place the garlic bread cut side up. Top the buttered side with mozzarella, diced chicken, crumbled bacon, tomatoes and chopped chives.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Switch the oven to broil and cook 1–2 more minutes until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned—watch carefully.
