Double Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies Recipe — Fudgy Chocolate Cookie Mix Treats

The holiday baking season is here, and I’m excited for all the festive treats that appear on store shelves this time of year. With so many tempting options, it’s easy to find inspiration for cookies, cakes, and other desserts. I’ve always liked Pillsbury® products, and their seasonal offerings make holiday baking simple and fun.

The festive sprinkles from Funfetti Vanilla Frosting bring cheerful color to any dessert. The red and green pieces are bright, well-shaped, and hold up nicely during baking at 350°F. They create a lovely contrast against a rich Devil’s Food cake mix, and they’d look adorable on a plate set out for Santa.

This cake mix can easily be adapted into cookies that taste like they came from scratch. With just a few added ingredients, you’ll get soft, chocolatey cookies that friends and family will love. It’s a great time-saver during the busy holiday season without sacrificing flavor.

The cookies are rich with chocolate flavor. Choose an oil that complements your taste: I used extra virgin olive oil, and its flavor comes through noticeably. If you prefer a milder profile, try vegetable oil, or use coconut oil if you enjoy a hint of coconut.

I rolled the tops of the cookies in sprinkles—no need to decorate the bottoms. Who looks at the underside of a cookie when it’s this tempting? Below are a few other Pillsbury seasonal items you might spot this year.
