Lately we’ve been all-in on slime. We’ve tried fluffy slime and floam, and recently added emoji slime to our collection. Most slime recipes use the same basic ingredients, and this one is no different.

My youngest loves playing scientist in the kitchen. We get quality time together while he experiments — and creates memories (and sometimes messes). Drew is always on the go: he enjoys cooking and crafting with me, and he’s active in sports with practices and games. Julia is in high school with a busy schedule too. Between Josh and me, we spend a lot of time driving the kids around.

Do all kinds of family activities and earn money towards a GM with the GM Card

A year and a half ago I became the family chauffeur and got a Chevrolet Tahoe. It’s roomy, comfortable, and easy to drive — I love it. Josh liked it so much he got one too, so we nearly match. I also like that GM offers the BuyPower Card from Capital One, which lets you earn points toward a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac. Some key features:

  • The BuyPower Card from Capital One turns purchases into Earnings toward a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle*
  • No limit on the amount you can earn or redeem
  • Earnings don’t expire
  • 5% Earnings on the first $5,000 in purchases each year, then unlimited 2% Earnings afterward

You can use the BuyPower Card to pick up craft supplies for slime, treat the family to dinner, or enjoy a date night — all purchases earn toward a new GM vehicle.

To make emoji slime, grab the BuyPower Card and head to the craft store or order supplies online. You’ll need:

  • foam shaving cream
  • Elmer’s glue (a large bottle works well)
  • food coloring
  • baking soda
  • saline solution
  • baby oil
  • googly eyes
  • heart beads
  • emoji zip-lock bags (found at Hobby Lobby or similar stores)

Drew loves the texture and plays with the slime for a long time, stretching and squishing it. It seems to have a calming effect, which I appreciate.

I found emoji zip-top bags at Hobby Lobby and thought they were perfect to store the slime. I also made emoji labels for the bags — they’re great for party favors, back-to-school treats, or just for fun.
